The town
of Inveraray, is on the upper reaches of Loch Fyne another sea
loch which runs in a northerly direction from the Clyde estuary.
Inveraray is an interesting large village and is the capital of
Argyll. there is lots to do with the castle, Inveraray jail, the
maritime museum and lots more including some beautiful walks.

The
magnificent Inveraray castle is the home of the 8th Duke of
Argyll and that is its principal function. However it is open to
visitors and is a must see place if you want to understand
anything about Scottish History and the clans. This is of course
the seat of the Campbells. The castle also has beautiful gardens
of about 16 acres.
To visit
the castle is to travel back in time and appreciate the history
good and bad about this place. |
