The lovely town of Kilcreggan is at the southern tip of the Roseneath peninsula which separates Loch Long from the Gare Loch. The pier at Kilcreggan is now the last Victorian Pier remaining on the Clyde and a legacy of the Clyde Steamer era. Cove a small town to its North west has a familiar feel and also grew in size when the steamers plied the Clyde. Unfortunately the pier at cove no longer exists.

Kilcreggan enjoys views south to Arran and also over to Greenock and Gourock. Being at the end of a peninsula it is generally a quite place but does have shops, pubs, restaurants and o course accommodation. There are many places to appreciate the views in this area. Loch Long is just a short walk from the town with its commanding views across to Dunoon.

There are regular ferries to and from Gourock allowing visitors to arrive by water.
