Situated on a rocky outcrop on
Loch Crinan, Duntrune Castle originally dates from the 13th
Century with tower house additions in around 1600. Renovated in
the late 18th century by the Malcolms of Poltalloch
and again in the early 1900s, the family moved out in 1853. The
castle is now a Malcolm family home again –having returned in
the 1950s after further renovations to the building.
