The castle is situated in a
large parkland area in Inveraray. It is the residence of the Duke of
Argyll and is open to the public. There is a lot to see and it is
highly recommended as a place to visit in Argyll
There has been a castle
here since the early 15th century and the present castle was
originally built in this form around 1877.
As well as being the house
and home of the Duke it of course is also the seat of the Clan
Campbell.
The full history of this
magnificent place can be found elsewhere on the internet as this
is more designed to tickle the fancy of potential tourists.
