This castle was built in the late 16th Centuary. It has a central or main building with three stories and also round towers at opposite corners.
This was where John Carswell lived before moving a mile up the road to Carnasserie Castle when he was made Bishop of the Isles (protestant).
The castle has recently been restored after lying in ruin for some time.
