Information and Accommodation around Argyll, Scotland

Duntrune Castle, Loch Crinan

Situated on a rocky outcrop on Loch Crinan, Duntrune Castle originally dates from the 13th Century with tower house additions in around 1600. Renovated in the late 18th century by the Malcolms of Poltalloch and again in the early 1900s, the family moved out in 1853. The castle is now a Malcolm family home again –having returned in the 1950s after further renovations to the building.

Seated high upon the spectacular rugged coast line of Argyll and surrounded by the outstanding landscape of the ancient kingdom of Dalriada, Duntrune Castle & estate is a very special place.

Home of the Malcolm family since the late 1700s, it is steeped in personality and history.

There is so much to enjoy both on the estate and in the surrounding area; beautiful countryside and coastlines to wander, pre-historic sites to explore, beaches, swimming, fishing; deer stalking, or simply tranquility for those who want to relax & re-charge batteries.

Experience the magic for yourself. We look forward to welcoming you.
