This is not one of Scotland's most ancient castles by any definition, in fact it was built in 1858. Having said that it is an interesting building and an excellent place to visit. The castle is situated about a mile from Craignure on Mull the main ferry port for those coming and going to Oban.

The castle grounds have magnificent gardens and there is a cafe and a gift and souvenir shop. There is also an adventure playground. Visitors also have access to the main rooms of the castle which built in a baronial style by the architect David Bryce is one of the finest examples of his work. This is a great day out visit from Oban you can also include nearby Duart Castle. The ferries from Oban are frequent and therefore you don't need to rush your visit to either location.
